Resources

These are some of my favorite "teacher" resources (it's not an all inclusive list). Use some, all, or none of them, it's up to you. Feel free to share your favorite websites here too. I'd love to add them to my list.

Social Studies
The U.S. Constitution
Detailed information about the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence.

Xpeditions
This site is run by National Geographic. You'll find an abundance of lesson plans, maps, activities, and other great resources to use when writing and creating social studies lessons.

Congress for Kids
Great resource to use when teaching United States government in the classroom.

Kids.gov
Another great resource to use when helping students understand government and governmental systems.

Library of Congress
There is an abundance of information on this site. It takes some sifting through, but definitely a site that should be bookmarked.

Language Arts
Read Write Think
Lesson plans, interactives, and printouts a teacher can use in the classroom. Best thing about this site - the parent and afterschool resources found on the right side of the page.

Teacher Vision
Find lesson plan ideas and other materials on this great site for teachers.

Florida Center for Reading Research
If you have questions about a student in your classroom, look no further than this website. This is a great place to get information about age and level appropriate assessments, activities, and lessons.

Math
Virtual Manipulatives
A wonderful place to go if a student or students need further practice with manipulatives.

IXL Math
More practice for students Pre-K to sixth grade.

Science
NOAA
Most of the resources on this site are specific to 3-5, but I'm sure they could be modified to work with any grade level.

Smithsonian
Awesome field trip opportunity, but also a great site to visit for resources and materials to use in the classroom.

NASA
Teaching space in the classroom? This is a great place to start.

Time for Kids
Resources from this site can be used to integrate subjects. Don't just think science.

National Science Teachers Association
And a resource for the teacher to enhance his/her classroom.
